What Is A Keno Runner
Most casinos offer "keno runners" to players who happen to be somewhere else (for example in the dining room or poker table), but still want to play keno. Keno girls are often dressed similarly to cocktail waitresses and they carry trays with blank tickets, crayons and spare change so that customers can play keno no matter where they are in the casino. A typical lunch in Las Vegas lasts just about long enough to eanble you to play (and lose) four or five keno games in the meantime. It is usual for keno runners to cruise the casino calling out "keno" and if you happen to feel like engaging the services of a runner, simply answer by saying again the word "keno" in a louder voice. After the runner has spotted you, they will come to your table, offer you to mark and pay for the keno ticket, and give you any change, after which they will continue cruising. The runner's job is to take your ticket to the keno lounge so that a dealer can make a copy. Normally, the runners are the last to be served before the keno game is closed and they wait for the numbers to be drawn and after that go back to their customers with their tickets and eventually winnings. They also offer you a keno ticket with holes punched for each number drawn, so that you can lay this ticket over yours and count the spots.
What is this "red game" and "green game" that some keno halls offer
Some casinos run multiple keno games to make players wager more money. In this case, after you have marked your ticket, you have to tell the dealer to enter it in the "red game", the "green game" or in both. This is done in order to increase the action (meaning the wagering) without increasing floorspace and staff correspondingly. If this is the case, there will be two separate sets of balls and two keno boards in only one keno lounge and operated by only one set of dealers. The casino is familiar with the fact that you won't merely want to play one of the games because most people "feel" that if they play only the "red game", their numbers will come up only on the "green game". This is why most keno players tend to bet on both games, which increases the house's earnings. From a mathematical point of view, there is nothing special about playing both games, although some casinos may offer additional prizes for hitting on both games and it is possible to calculate the odds of hitting on both games by multiplying combinations that pay off.
What Can One Win In Keno
In keno, how much you win is determined by the amount of spots you choose and match. For example, having selected a spot 5 and having 4 matches will make you win, let's say $25. However, if you select 7 keno numbers and only have 4 matches, you will not win. The basic rule here is that the higher percentage of marked numbers match, the more you win.
